Using the Free Crossword Puzzle Maker on Free Puzzle World

It's really quite easy to make a free online crossword puzzle to share with your friends or the public.

Step 0: Login

Before you can start to make your crossword puzzle, you'll need to login in order to save the crossword you make and allow you and only you to change it.

If you don't yet have an account, it's free and easy to register.

Step 1: Layout Your Crosswords

The next step is to layout your crosswords. These are the answers that the players will be trying to guess. Enter a letter into a cell by first clicking on it to highlight it, then typing the letter.

Step 2: Create Hints

Now you will create hints for each word in the puzzle. Click into each hint box, you will notice that the corresponding word highlights. Type in a hint for the highlighted word. Do this for each word in your crossword.

Step 3: Describe Your New Crossword Puzzle

Finally, give your crossword a name and simple description so others will know what it is supposed to be about. Both puzzle name and description appear directly above the puzzle when visitors are playing, so try to be descriptive so they know what kinds of answers to guess.

Visibility specifies whether the puzzle will appear elsewhere on the Free Puzzle World site (public) or not (private). We are all about community and sharing here, so we encourage you to choose public.

Once you click finish, your crossword will be created. Your profile page will contain all the crosswords you've created.
